Weekly Comments

What I learned this week: Um...nothing, really.
What I want to learn in the future: How to not procrastinate. I'm not great at it.
Something that frustrated me: This week was horrible. Absolutely horrible.
Something that made me happy: Five more days of school and I'm d-o-n-e.

Red Letter Media (responsible for the A-MAH-ZING Star Wars prequel reviews) has reviewed Titanic! Join Mr. Plinkett, everyone's favorite serial killer/maniac/movie fan as he reviews what he calls "a fantastic movie, and the worst movie ever."
(warning - swearing follows)

Viral Videos

Three things I did not know:
1. The amount of video uploaded to YouTube per minute is up to 72 hours. That's crazy.
2. You can basically pay money to create a viral video.
3. A view is counted only after a certain part of the clip is played.

Two opinions:
1. Bless the viral video, which gave us hits like Gangnam Style.
2. Paying for your video to go viral seems...scummy.

One question:
1. How many more days before Gangnam Syle hits 1000000000 views? Crazy.

Gollum

Three things I did not know:
1. Serkis began acting as Gollum as an assistance to actors before they began motion capturing him.
2. The doubled frame rate is assisting with motion capture smoothness.
3. Originally, motion capture was done with reflective dots, but is now instead done with infrared LEDs.

Two opinions:
1. I don't think I'd like 48fps. I hate the fakeness that the motion smoothness setting on newer TVs bring, and this is similar.
2. I hope The Hobbit is better than some of the reviews say it is.

One question:
1. Why is Serkis not taken seriously as an actor? Watch him act in behind the scenes footage on the internet, he's amazing. Seriously.

Weekly comments

What I learned this week: Not much. Just worked on my kinetic type thing.
What I want to learn in the future: How to sleep on command.
Something that frustrated me: I've had like three papers due this week. I'm so sick of writing.
Something that made me happy: Done. With. Tutorials.

I am beyond excited for this movie. Seriously.

Marvel's Phase 2

Three things I did not know:
1. That television shows will start to become like movie franchises. (I did know about the Whedon-produced SHIELD show, however).
2. Competing studios are actually starting to talk to each other (cough, Fantastic Four, cough).
3. This may help create longer-form story telling (which definitely made me think of Lord of the Rings, which is essentially one movie).

Two opinions:
1. Iron Man 3 looks cool, but MAN am I excited for both Ant-Man (directed by one Mr. Edgar Wright, who is easily in my top three filmmakers) and Guardians of the Galaxy (directed by James Gunn, who made Super, which, while not one of my favorite films ever, definitely did some crazy things [that scene with the wrench and "cutting"? Man... I'll never forget that]).
2. I'm not sure whether to be excited about Man of Steel or not. Zach Snyder is visually a good director, and since he's not writing the script the film may actually be good.

One question:
1. Avengers 2, where are you...2015? Aw, man...

Rise of the Guardians

Three things I did not know:
1. That Rise of the Guardians was not going in a "post-modern" world with Santa on a cell phone or the Easter bunny on Twitter.
2. The director wanted to make the film feel more live-action than animated, so he used such techniques as making the camera feel as though it was on a crane.
3. Ramsey put a lot of work into the background of each scene.

Two opinions:
1. There's something about the animation style of Rise of the Guardians... I can't tell if I like it or not. It's definitely different.
2. Minority Report - now there's a good movie. It's cool that he worked on the storyboards for that.

One question:
1. Why did this film gross so low? It's the only film this year with Santa in it.

Weekly Comments

What I learned this week: Some additional After Effects stuff.
What I want to learn in the future: Um....nothing really right now. Better time management? Heh, heh...
Something that frustrated me: I'm sick again. Le sigh.
Something that made me happy: The play I was helping with at the school is over. So...yay.

Neil Patrick Harris. Dreaming. Puppets.

Good times, eh?

(Discretion: Video contains one swear word)

Spongebob

Three things I did not know:
1. That Spongebob was still on the air.
2. That they made a stop-motion Christmas special as an homage to the old Rankin-Bass specials. (#CommunityDidItFirst)
3. Over 30 people worked on the special.

Two opinions:
1. Even as a kid, I never really liked Spongebob
2. The stop-motion looks really cool, however. It looks like they put some genuine work into it.

One question:
Why did it air on CBS before Nickelodeon? That seems weird.

TWILIGHT

Three things I did not know:
1. That guys think they can be better than Edward <3
2. Guys feel sad when you talk about how great Edward is to them (how stupid).
3. That guys don't want their relationships to be more like Edward and Bellas.

Two opinions:
1. SO LIKE. YEA. GUYS DON'T LIKE EDWARD BECAUSE THEY AREN'T AS GOOD AS HIM. SO DUMB. EDWARD IS SO STRONG BUT SO WOUNDED LIKE A PUPPY, BUT LIKE, A TOUGH PUPPY. YOU KNOW THE KIND. BUT GUYS ARE JUST STUPID AND THEY DON'T GET WHY EDWARD IS SO GREAT AND KIND AND LOVING. HE WATCHES OVER BELLA BECAUSE HE LOVES BELLA EVEN THOUGH HE DESERVES WAY BETTER THAN DUMB BELLA I LOVE YOU EDWARD.
2. I wish I had an Edward........................................................</3 :'(

One question:
1. When can I see Twilight again!? I'm going to go watch the DVDs!

Meanwhile, in the real world...

Three things I did not know:
1. That this was actually becoming a problem.
2. That some women become so obsessed with these books that they look at their real husbands or boyfriends and think they aren't good enough.
3. That some guys are actually trying to be more like Edward.

Two opinions:
1. Lolwut? This whole thing is ridiculous.
2. I mean, seriously women. It's a fictional character. Calm yo'self.

One question:
1. Why? Just.......why?...
