Apple - The Death of the Disc Drive

Three things I did not know:
I'm going to be honest, I knew most of the things on this article. So this is going to be a stretch.
1. That the 2001 iMac's slogan was "Rip. Mix. Burn."
2. That plenty of music releases are worth buying a piece of plastic instead of a file.
3. That more labels are selling their music directly to consumers, via their own websites.
(See, a stretch.)

Two opinions:
1. Good riddance, disc drive. I barely use you, and you had unnecessary heft. Can't wait to get my new MacBook Pro next year so I can get rid of about a pound of weight.
2. In fact, good riddance MP3 downloads. I prefer music streaming through Rdio (a Spotify competitor). I pay $10 a month and I get 95 percent of the music I listen to anytime I want it.

One question:
1. How long will it take for other computer manufacturers to follow? They've started with their laptops already, but dropping it from AIOs is new.
